The new information that has broken on Joe Biden is the Democrats’ worst nightmare.
He could be facing serious legal trouble.
Joe Biden broke into a cold sweat when Amy Coney Barrett was asked this question.
Emails that the New York Post revealed show that Hunter Biden arranged for then-Vice President Joe Bidento meet with Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to Ukrainian energy company Burisma, in 2015.
At the time Biden was largely responsible for the Obama administration’s Ukrainian policy, and less than a year later, Biden threatened to withhold a billion dollars if the Ukrainian government didn’t fire the prosecutor who was investigating Burisma.
This directly contradicts Biden’s claims in the past that he knew nothing about his son’s business.
“I don’t know what he was doing. I found out he was on the board after he was on the board,” Biden said in an interview with Axios in 2019.
The Biden campaign did not deny the fact that Biden met with Pozharskyi, they merely said that the meeting wasn’t on his calendar.
While the way Biden acted is certainly corrupt, it’s unclear if what he did was illegal.
Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley asked “hypothetical” questions to Judge Amy Coney Barrettduring Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings.
“I think it’s only fair that I ask whether hypothetically speaking, just hypothetically, if there were let’s say a vice president of the United States who hypothetically had an adult son who hypothetically worked for a foreign oligarch who then sold access to his father the vice president, and his father then intervened in a case to make sure that oligarch wasn’t prosecuted, hypothetically, would that violate, would that constitute the kind of foreign corruption that the Constitution’s concerned about?” Hawley asked.
“I can’t answer hypotheticals,” Barrett quickly responded.
“Well, I thought you might say that, and I’m glad you don’t, and won’t, because who knows, that case might come before you, but uh, I think it’s a fair set of questions to ask,” Hawley said before moving on.
It’s unclear if Joe Biden’s foreign policy is still being influenced by his son’s foreign business deals.
While Hunter Biden promises to rid himself of entanglements in foreign businesses, as of July,Hunter Biden still controlleda 10% stake in a Chinese firm.
“They will not be engaged in any foreign business because of what’s happened in this administration,” Joe Biden said of Hunter Biden in an Axios interview in 2019. “No one’s going to be seeking patents for things from China. No one’s going to be engaged in that kind of thing.”
But is Joe Biden’s word trustworthy? His track record from his time as Vice President should be concerning to all Americans.
