You Won’t Believe Which A-List Hollywood Star May Run for President as a Republican

The 2024 Republican presidential primary could be the most wide open in history.

All hell could break loose.

And you won’t believe which A-list Hollywood star may run for president as a Republican.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the biggest box office attraction in Hollywood.

Johnson’s starred in blockbusters such as the “Jumanji” and “Fast and Furious” franchise.

But for several years Johnson floated the idea of running for president.

In 2017 Johnson told GQ Magazine,“I think that it’s a real possibility,” when asked about running for president.

Johnson expressed a desire to run for president in an interview with Stephen Colbert.

“So when that started picking up, of course when I’m asked- yes, I have incredible respect for our American people and our country, so I said ‘Yes, I would consider it,’” Johnson continued. “But at the same time, Stephen, I mean look, I’m not delusional at all. Like I feel like I, you know what it is? I need that thing… oh, experience,” Johnson added.

“So if that were to happen in a 2024, 2028, I would have to go to work and get some experience, you know, and understand policy,” Johnson continued.

Now Johnson is taking a more concrete step.

In the promotional tour for his NBC show “Young Rock” which tells the story of his life as a child and teenager, Johnson once again promoted the idea of a presidential campaign.

“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” Johnson said in a USA Today interview. “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people… So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”

But it is the content of “Young Rock” that is raising eyebrows about Johnson’s political future.

The show is anchored by Johnson playing a future version of himself running for president in 2032 looking back at the formative years and events of his life.

Donald Trump won in 2016 in part because in his years starring on “The Apprentice,” millions of Americans watched Trump demonstrate his ability to project his image as a successful and in charge businessman who dispensed wisdom, fired poorly performing contestants and mentored others to fame and fortune.

Johnson may be banking on the fact that Americans will watch him run for president on TV and become comfortable with the notion of Johnson as a candidate should he actually run for office in 2028 or 2032.

The only open question is which party’s banner Johnson would run under.

While Johnson famously endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020, many believed Johnson offered that endorsement out of a desire to maintain his Hollywood appeal by pacifying the rabid social justice left.

When Johnson starred as the headline attraction in the WWF as “The Rock,” he identified as a Republican and even performed at the 2000 Republican National Convention.

Johnson could very well run as a Republican in 2032 as Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump and Arnold Schwarzenegger were all prominent entertainment industry celebrities that won elected office as Republicans.

While the only political candidate Johnson ever endorsed was a Democrat, the only party he ever identified with was the GOP.

But would Republican voters really be willing to consider a candidate that supported Joe Biden over Donald Trump?
